Qissa
Photo consent

Family photos are handled as carefully as family stories.

This page explains permissions for uploaded photos, captions, contributors, children in photos, restoration, printing, and private archive use.

Photo and Family Contributor Consent

Effective date: April 29, 2026 Version: 1.0

This consent applies when a family member, buyer, storyteller, or contributor submits photos, captions, written memories, family questions, documents, corrections, or other materials to Qissa.

Qissa is operated by [Legal Entity Name], trading as Qissa. Contact: [hello@qissastories.com] Privacy contact: [privacy@qissastories.com]

1. Contributor confirmation

By submitting materials to Qissa, I confirm that:

  1. I have the right to submit the photos, captions, written memories, questions, documents, corrections, or other materials I provide.
  2. I am not submitting materials in a way that violates another person's privacy, copyright, confidentiality, or other rights.
  3. If a photo or story identifies another person, I have considered whether that person should be asked for permission.
  4. If a photo shows a child, I confirm that I am the child's parent or legal guardian, or I have permission from the child's parent or legal guardian where reasonably required.
  5. I understand that Qissa may crop, restore, color-correct, resize, enhance, arrange, caption, print, archive, and display submitted photos and materials only as needed to provide the Qissa project and private family archive.
  6. I understand that Qissa may use trained team members, editors, designers, photo restoration tools, printers, couriers, cloud providers, and other service providers to process the materials.
  7. I understand that Qissa will not intentionally publish submitted photos, stories, names, or family materials publicly for marketing unless separate written permission is given.
  8. I understand that printed books already produced or shipped may not be capable of being recalled, deleted, or changed.

2. Photo restoration and editing

If photo restoration or editing is included in the selected package, Qissa may adjust images for clarity, layout, cropping, color, contrast, damage repair, print quality, or book design. Qissa does not guarantee that every damaged photo can be restored perfectly.

3. Sensitive family information

Family materials may contain private or sensitive details about other people. Please do not submit highly sensitive information about another person unless you have permission or a fair and lawful reason to include it in the family project.

If you are unsure whether something should be included, mark it for review or discuss it with Qissa before submission.

4. License to Qissa

I grant Qissa a limited permission to receive, store, copy, edit, restore, format, design, print, ship, archive, and otherwise use the submitted materials only as reasonably necessary to provide the Qissa service, support the project, maintain records, comply with law, and protect legal rights.

I or the relevant rights-holder continue to own the submitted materials.

5. Removal or correction requests

I may ask Qissa to remove or correct submitted materials by contacting [privacy@qissastories.com] or [support email]. Qissa will consider the request, but removal or correction may not be possible for:

  • books already printed or shipped;
  • materials already approved for print;
  • legal, payment, tax, security, consent, or dispute records;
  • backup copies that will be deleted or overwritten in the normal backup cycle;
  • materials controlled by another rights-holder, storyteller, or family decision-maker.
